TL;DR

  • We prioritize official policy, pricing, and support documentation.
  • We separate observed facts from inference and label confidence.
  • We update time-sensitive pages on a fixed cadence.

Scope

This methodology applies to verify and terms pages. Risk pages use a separate risk rubric for severity labels.

Evidence levels

  • High: primary sources + dated screenshots or reproducible checks.
  • Medium: primary source + one supporting signal (release note, support doc).
  • Low: partial sources, unconfirmed plan deltas, or unstable ownership.

What counts as evidence

  • Official terms, privacy policies, and pricing pages
  • Provider help center documentation and enforcement guidance
  • Product changelogs or release notes
  • First-party screenshots with dates
  • Reproducible checks you can run and record

What we do not do

  • Provide legal advice
  • Treat rumors as facts
  • Publish plan deltas without sources

Update cadence

  • Pricing/terms pages: review within 30 days
  • Policy/incident pages: review within 90 days
  • Ownership changes: review after any public announcement

What would invalidate this

  • A new official policy effective date
  • Updated pricing or plan definitions
  • A documented change in enforcement practices

  • /verify/claude-terms/
  • /verify/windsurf-terms/
